This post addresses some of the questions I commonly get asked on this Blog.

What year of study am I in?

I’m currently a 4th year university student majoring in the Psychology Program in the Arts. I was originally accepted in the Science Program which was popular at my university. I intended to become a family physician (and partially still do), but after taking a few psych classes, I found my passion in psych instead. Hence, around the beginning of this year, I changed my program to Arts and declared a major in Psychology. I hope to get into the Master of Counselling Psychology Program offered at my school.

What is the story behind this Tumblr?

I started this tumblr around the beginning of 2010 last year. Hence, the tumblr’s name has the 2010 in it. I featured articles from what I was learning in my psychology classes and shared my journey. I also occasionally make posts on studying tips. My best studying tip is currently a video titled ‘Tai’s Exam Revision Method’ that I collaborated with other Tumblrs.

Ever since the blog started, I’ve received many feedback from my followers about how much they enjoyed reading the contents. They said it kept them motivated with what they were studying and that the studying methods were extremely helpful. This motivated me as well (so thank you) to keep posting and sharing what I learn.  Who knows, I might still be posting even when I’m doing my Master Degree?

Why are there advertisements on your Tumblr?

The advertisements as seen on the Tumblr under the banner, the right hand side, and the sponsored links, are means of which I generate income from your clicks.

The clicks must be a result of your genuine interest in the advertisement. This could be browsing through the web pages you have clicked on.

Aside from this, I’m interested in the Psychology of advertisements clicking behaviors. Some questions that I ask are ‘Does mood affect when people are more likely to visit advertisements?’ ‘What time of the day are people more likely to visit ads?’ and ‘where should ads be placed so people will see it more?’ Unfortunately, there has been so little research in this field.

Here is a list of psychology courses I have took. If you need help with topics I’ve studied, you can use the search box to look for my old articles on the topics.

Psychology Courses I have taken:

  • Psychology of Gender
  • Cognitive Processes
  • Personality Psychology
  • Social Psychology
  • Child and Adolescence Development
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Research Methods
  • Behavioral Statistics
  • Biopsychology (half way)
  • Forensic Psychology
