Keep Your Writing Simple
An experimental study had participants rate the intelligence of admission letters to medical school based on the number of fancy (smart) words the letters use. The study shows that using simple language actually gives the letters better ratings for intelligence level.
This is true for writing reports for classes as well. Keep your writing simple and straight to the point may get you a higher grade.

Knowing fancy language doesn’t prove you’re smart, it only proves you own a thesaurus. Knowing how to take the information and narrow it down in to a easy to read, easily digestable piece of writing takes a lot more effort and skill.
